I just read a great blog post from “Eating As a Path to Yoga” in which we’re reminded to not put too much emphasis on the number reflected by the scale. The number on the scale doesn’t reflect your physical or mental health. It says nothing about your personality, your charm, your sense of humor, your social support network, or your skills, gifts, and talents. Fluctuations in weight are normal, so when we weigh ourselves every day or obsess over the number on the scale, we’re really not seeing the whole picture.
Many of us who are stuck in B.E.D. focus solely on weight as a marker of success. It becomes a source of happiness when it’s lower than we anticipated and a source of misery when it’s higher. So, take a few moments to check out this short blog post in an effort to change the way you think about weight!
