Thanksgiving is typically my favorite holiday, but this year I’m feeling the Christmas spirit more than before. It’s my first Christmas in my own apartment…just me and my cat, KC.
I’ve had complete control over how I decorate the tree, what I put on the walls, what lights I hang from the ceilings, what Christmas music is playing on my stereo, and what holiday delights I stock in my cabinets. Sure, my partner comes and goes and shares his opinion on it all, but it’s inspired by my creativity, my personality, my spirit.
What are you doing to nurture your spirit during the holidays? It’s so easy to get caught up in our To Do List and miss out on the opportunity to be fully present to the small pleasures associated with the shopping, baking, wrapping, and decorating. When we’re locked in “go mode”, the holidays can pass us by without any recognition of the true spirit of Christmas: JOY, HOPE, PEACE, and LOVE. So, take some time to tune out distractions and tune into the spirit of Christmas.
Peace, joy, and health,
